Business Meeting: Exploring Morocco: Keys to Investing and Growing in Africa from the Comunitat Valenciana
Within the framework of the visit to Valencia by the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Morocco, Ryad Mezzour, the Morocco-Spain Economic Council (CEMAES), the Business Confederation of the Comunitat Valenciana (CEV), together with CEOE, the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), the Council of Chambers of the Comunitat Valenciana, the Generalitat Valenciana, and IVACE, with the support of ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, organized the Business Meeting “Exploring Morocco: Keys to Investing and Growing in Africa from the Comunitat Valenciana,” which took place on June 22, 2026, at the CEV headquarters.
This event, opened by the Vice President of CEOE and President of CEV, Vicente Lafuente, and the President of the Council of Chambers of the Comunitat Valenciana, José Vicente Morata, featured opening remarks from the co-presidents of CEMAES, Adil Rais and Clemente González Soler, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, Karima Benyaich, the Regional Minister of Industry, Tourism, Innovation, and Commerce of the Comunitat Valenciana, Marián Cano, as well as the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Morocco, Ryad Mezzour.
During the session, Morocco was highlighted as a key economic partner for the Comunitat Valenciana and Spain, as well as a gateway to African markets, underscoring its growing competitiveness as an industrial and investment destination. Emphasis was also placed on the dynamism of bilateral relations, geographical proximity, and the strong economic ties between the Comunitat Valenciana and Morocco. In this context, a call was made to consolidate the strategic alliance between Spain and Morocco, leveraging their logistical, industrial, and human integration to build shared prosperity.
Likewise, it was noted that the Valencian productive sector is one of the most diversified industrial ecosystems in Southern Europe, showcasing strong leadership in various sectors and innovative capacity in fields such as mobility and automotive.
This was followed by a panel discussion focusing on the business environment and investment opportunities in Morocco, which highlighted the assistance offered to investors in the country, detailing available support tools and incentives. In addition, legal certainty was analyzed, emphasizing the guarantees outlined in the Moroccan Investment Charter and the extensive network of reciprocal investment protection agreements. AMDIE complemented the panel with a presentation on Morocco as a platform for foreign investment.
Next, a session took place regarding the strengths and opportunities of the Valencia Region, led by the Vice President of CEOE and President of CEV, Vicente Lafuente, and the President of the Council of Chambers of the Comunitat Valenciana, José Vicente Morata.
Finally, the Chair of the CEOE International Relations Commission, Marta Blanco, led a panel on Morocco-Spain business cooperation. During this session, the President of Baleària, Adolfo Utor, the General Manager of Erum Maroc, Carlos Mulero, and the Director of InCom Composites, Juan Antonio Vidal, shared their experiences in the country and key aspects of their internationalization processes.
The event was closed by the co-president of CEMAES, Adil Rais, who highlighted the value of the Morocco-Spain Economic Council as a resource for companies in both countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, B2B meetings were held between Spanish and Moroccan companies.
